Francesco Neri, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Francesco completed his PhD in the Campisi Lab at the Buck Institute for Research on Aging, where he worked on cellular senescence. After his PhD, he worked at the startup NeuroAge Therapeutics before joining the Rosenbluth and Basu labs as a postdoc. He studies heterogeneity in breast cancer and treatment response by combining clinical and molecular data with organoid models.
Sarah Choi
Specialist
Sarah Choi is a graduate of the BOP intern program working in the lab to study therapeutic resistance and response prediction in biomarker-negative organoids.
Michael Choi
BOP intern
Michael Choi is a BOP intern who is leading multiple plastic surgery translational research efforts, while also developing normal organoids from breast tissues and coordinating clinical/translational research efforts in the Rosenbluth lab.
Jose Cedano, BS
Graduate Student
Jose Cedano is a Biomedical Sciences graduate student interested in organotypic model systems that incorporate the tissue microenvironment.
Kingsley Chow, BS
Graduate Student
Kingsley Chow is a Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics graduate student working with Dr. Laura van 't Veer and Dr. Rosenbluth to develop HER2+ I-SPY2 organoid cultures for resistance modeling.
Nadine Goldhammer, PhD
Postdoctoral Fellow
Nadine received her PhD in Molecular Mechanisms of Disease from the University of Copenhagen, where she studied the cellular composition of the mammary gland. In the Rosenbluth lab, she uses single-cell technologies to investigate pre-cancerous lesions in the human breast to understand how cancer risk factors contribute to tumorigenesis.
Sarabjit Dhillon, BA
BCC Intern
Sarabjit Dhillon previously studied Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at Bryn Mawr College. She is currently serving as a Breast Care Center Intern who supports the REWIRE High Risk DCIS clinical research study and coordinates breast tissue collection for the development of organoid models by the Rosenbluth Lab.
Jayla Crawford, BS
Graduate Student
Jayla is a Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmacogenomics graduate student who is interested in novel immunotherapy combinations for metastatic breast cancer.
Shruti Warhadpande, MS
Lab Manager
Shruti Warhadpande received her Master of Science in Biomedical Engineering from The University of Texas and has expertise in developing point-of-care diagnostic tests, and is currently developing organoid-based assays of endocrine response and the breast tissue biobank.
Michael Bruck, BS
Specialist
Michael has previously worked with tissue samples and testing of new medical devices, and is developing the breast organoid pipeline at UCSF in order to generate new strategies for breast cancer prevention, and managing laboratory ordering and supplies.
Tam Binh Bui, MSc, MD
Graduate Student
Tam Binh Bui is a PhD student at Utrecht University, The Netherlands, and a visiting graduate student at UCSF working with Dr. Laura van ‘t Veer and Dr. Rosenbluth to study biomarker signatures predicting treatment response/resistance in early-stage breast cancer.
Joining our team part-time are UC Berkeley undergraduates Jamie Lynn Thu Phan, Arianna Zhu, Emily Tuong Vi Huynh, Kara Howa, Mannon Lenoir, and Shiho Yanagawa, and Anna Vertido, a surgery research fellow working with Dr. Laura Esserman.
